Series and parallel pumps are two common pump combinations used to meet specific flow and head (pressure) requirements.
1.2 Product Features
The key feature of a parallel pump is that, at the same head (pressure), the total system flow is equal to the sum of the flow rates provided by each pump at that head.
The key feature of a series pump is that the total system head is equal to the sum of the heads provided by each pump at that flow rate. If two identical pumps are connected in series, the total head is approximately twice the head of a single pump at the same flow rate.
